Indications for Use

The IMDS NHanceIT Guide Wire Support Catheter with hydrophilic coating is a guidewire exchange and infusion device designed for use in the coronary and/or peripheral vasculature. The catheter is intended to support a guidewire during access of coronary and/or peripheral vasculature and allows for exchange of guidewires and provide a conduit for the delivery of diagnostic contrast agents. The catheter is not intended for use in the neurovasculature.

Device Story

NHanceIT is an over-the-wire (OTW) single-lumen guide wire support catheter; used in coronary/peripheral vasculature via femoral or brachial approach. Device features 0.014" guidewire compatibility; radiopaque tip for X-ray visualization; deformable atraumatic tip for vessel centering. Physician operates device under fluoroscopic guidance to navigate to distal lesions; provides conduit for contrast agent delivery and guidewire exchange. Benefits include improved access to target lesions and procedural efficiency. No AI/ML components.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Verification tests included kink resistance, flexibility, tensile strength, torque robustness, leak testing, catheter burst, infusion flow rate, surface coating lubricity, coating integrity, and bond strength. Biocompatibility testing performed per ISO 10993-1, including cytotoxicity, sensitization, irritation, systemic toxicity, hemocompatibility, and pyrogenicity. All tests met acceptance criteria.

Technological Characteristics

OTW single-lumen catheter; 135 cm length; 0.014" guidewire compatibility; 5 Fr minimum guiding catheter. Materials: Pebax/Polyethylene shaft, stainless steel reinforcement, TPE/Tungsten radiopaque marker, PUR/PVP hydrophilic coating, MDX inner lumen coating. Straight tip design.
