## Indications for Use

Ultrafree Textured Sterile Latex Powder-Free Surgical Gloves are intended for use in environments within hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The gloves are appropriate for use during invasive and non-invasive medical procedures requiring sterility. They are intended to be worn by operating room personnel to protect a surgical wound from contamination.

## Device Story

Ultrafree Textured Sterile Latex Powder-Free Surgical Gloves are sterile, natural rubber latex gloves designed for use by operating room personnel. The gloves provide a physical barrier to protect surgical wounds from contamination during invasive and non-invasive medical procedures. They are used in hospital and healthcare facility settings. The device is a passive barrier; it does not transform inputs or provide clinical outputs. The benefit to the patient is the reduction of contamination risk during surgery.

## Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Biocompatibility testing included primary skin irritation, systemic toxicity, intracutaneous reactivity, hemocompatibility, and guinea pig maximization, all showing no adverse reactions. Physical performance met or exceeded ASTM D3577-91 for tensile strength and elongation. Barrier defects met 21 CFR §800.20 (AQL 2.5). Residual powder levels were below 2 mg per glove per ASTM D6124-97.

## Technological Characteristics

Natural rubber latex surgical gloves. Textured surface. Powder-free. Sterilized. Complies with ASTM D3577-91 (tensile strength/elongation) and ASTM D6124-97 (residual powder). Barrier integrity per 21 CFR §800.20.

## Regulatory Identification

A non-powdered surgeon's glove is a device intended to be worn on the hands of operating room personnel to protect a surgical wound from contamination. A non-powdered surgeon's glove does not incorporate powder for purposes other than manufacturing. The final finished glove includes only residual powder from manufacturing.
