Indications for Use

ULTRALON* Powder Free Latex Surgical Gloves are intended to protect the wearer from liquids such as body fluids and blood, as well as to protect surgical wounds or sterile fields from microbiological contamination from the wearer.

Device Story

ULTRALON* Powder Free Latex Surgical Gloves are sterile, unpigmented, natural rubber latex gloves featuring an inner non-latex polymer lining. Designed for use by clinicians in surgical settings to provide a barrier against body fluids and blood, and to prevent microbiological contamination of sterile fields. The device is manufactured to meet ASTM D 3577-91 standards for rubber surgical gloves. The primary benefit is the provision of a sterile barrier during surgical procedures while minimizing potential irritation or sensitization through the powder-free design.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical tests were conducted. Evidence is based on nonclinical bench testing, including compliance with ASTM D-3577-91, 21 CFR 800.20, primary skin irritation testing in rabbits, delayed contact sensitization testing in guinea pigs, and USP iodine testing for starch presence.

Technological Characteristics

Natural rubber latex; inner non-latex polymer lining; unpigmented; powder-free; sterile; sizes 5-1/2 through 9. Complies with ASTM D 3577-91 (Type 1 rubber surgical gloves).

Indications for Use

Indicated for use by healthcare personnel to protect the wearer from body fluids/blood and to protect surgical wounds/sterile fields from contamination.
