Indications for Use

The Ion-L System facet implants are intended to be placed bilaterally through a posterior surgical approach and spans the facet interspace. Ion-L is indicated for the treatment of patients with lumbar degenerative disc disease (DDD) from L3 to S1 in skeletally mature patients who have failed conservative care. Device Story

Ion-L is a facet spinal fixation system for bilateral stabilization of lumbar facet joints (L3-S1). Device is placed via posterior surgical approach to span facet interspace; provides temporary stabilization as adjunct to 1-level interbody lumbar fusion. Implant features zero-profile design with fenestrations and open barrels for bone graft integration; engagement features resist expulsion. Designed for controlled non-impact placement to maintain neutral joint position. Used by surgeons in clinical settings; requires concurrent use of FDA-cleared intervertebral body fusion device. Benefits include stabilization of spinal segment to facilitate fusion in DDD patients.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act.
