## Indications for Use

The Wellvii Inc. BP Go™ is a device designed for spot measurements with recorded results of non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), and pulse rate from the base of the left index finger. This device is intended for use by persons aged 18 years and older only with a left index finger circumference between 5.1 [cm] to 8.0 [cm]. This device is not intended for use in patients with irregular heart rhythms, including atrial fibrillation, patients that are pregnant, or patients with poor peripheral perfusion/peripheral vascular disease.

## Device Story

BP Go is a handheld, standalone, non-invasive blood pressure monitor for spot-checking. User inserts left index finger into a 175° cuff; device inflates to 230 mmHg and deflates to 30 mmHg. Oscillometric method detects arterial wall oscillations; systolic/diastolic pressures calculated from pressure amplitude changes; pulse rate derived from peak-to-peak oscillometric signal. Device features integrated 1.3-inch color display. Used in clinical or home settings by patients or clinicians. Output provides immediate BP and pulse rate readings to inform clinical decision-making. Benefits include portable, non-invasive monitoring of blood pressure and pulse rate.

## Clinical Evidence

Clinical trial conducted per ISO 81060-2:2018 with 85 subjects (18–85 years, 54% male, 46% female). Finger sizes ranged 5.1–8.4 cm. Results: Systolic mean error 2.22 mmHg (SD 7.32), Diastolic mean error 1.22 mmHg (SD 6.36). Pulse rate accuracy (ARMS) was 1.23 bpm (range 51–102 bpm). Bench testing confirmed pulse rate accuracy < ±1 bpm over 40–140 bpm range.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. # 5. DEVICE DESCRIPTION

BP Go is a non-invasive device for spot-checking blood pressure.

The BP Go uses the oscillometric method to measure blood pressure from the base of the finger as described in the steps below.

1. The user inserts their finger in the cuff and tightens the strap to hold the finger steady.
2. The cuff inflates to 230 [mmHg].
3. The cuff deflates to 30 [mmHg].
4. Using the oscillometric method, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure are calculated. The oscillometric method of measurement relies on the principle that blood flow through an artery creates oscillations in the arterial wall. The finger blood pressure cuff detects these oscillations, which manifest as small pulsations in the cuff pressure. As the cuff gradually deflates from above systolic pressure, the monitor records the changes in pressure amplitude. When the pulse overcomes the occlusion in the artery, the amplitude sharply increases. As the cuff pressure continues to drop, the pulsations grow stronger, peaking at the mean pressure, before gradually fading.

The pulse rate is calculated from the peak to peak of the oscillometric signal.1

# 7. SUMMARY OF NON-CLINICAL PERFORMANCE TESTING

# Biocompatibility Testing

No biocompatibility testing was conducted. The materials of construction of the BP Go device are considered in common use for other consumer products with similar nature of contact, and in such cases, ISO 10993-1 states that no further biological evaluation is needed. Furthermore, a majority of the materials are listed in the FDA guidance as presenting a low biocompatibility risk, further supporting the conclusion that no additional evaluation was required to ensure the user safety.

# Electrical Safety

The following electrical safety testing was conducted under the ASCA scheme:

- ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1:2005 (R) 2012/A1:2012/C1:2009 (R) 2012/A2:2010 (R) 2012 (consolidated edition, including Amd.2:2021), Medical electrical equipment – Part 1: General requirements for basic safety and essential performance (IEC 60601-1:2005 MOD, including Amendment 2:2021)

# Clinical

Clinical trials were completed to validate the clinical accuracy and functionality of the proposed device. The study was conducted in accordance with ISO 81060-2:2018, Non-invasive sphygmomanometers - Part 2: Clinical investigation of intermittent automated measurement type. The study population consisted of 85 qualified subjects ranging from 18 to 85 years of age. The subjects were 54% male and 46% female with finger sizes ranges from 5.1 to 8.4 cm.

Table 2 summarizes the study results. The BP Go met the accuracy performance requirements of the standard.

The pulse rate accuracy met the acceptance criteria with an ARMS = 1.23 bpm over the tested range of 51 to 102 bpm. The full pulse rate range of 40 to 140 bpm was tested on the bench and was shown to be accurate to < ± 1 [bpm].

### Software

Software verification and validation testing was conducted, and documentation was provided as recommended by FDA's Guidance for Industry and FDA Staff, "Guidance for the Content of Premarket Submissions for Software Contained in Medical Devices." Verification of the BP Go was conducted to ensure that the product works as designed. Validation was conducted to check the design and performance of the product.
