Indications for Use

Device Story

Moses D/F/L Laser Fibers are single-use, straight-firing delivery devices transferring Holmium (Ho:YAG) laser energy from a compatible laser console to a treatment site. Energy travels through a silica glass core to the distal tip; Moses 200 features a ball tip for improved passability through deflected flexible endoscopes, while 365 and 550 models feature flat tips. An embedded RFID chip enables console recognition and enforces single-use limits. Used in urology clinics or ORs by physicians; the device acts as a conduit for laser energy to perform tissue ablation or lithotripsy. Clinical benefit is derived from the precise delivery of laser energy for minimally invasive surgical intervention. The device is EtO sterilized and has a 3-year shelf life.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing included biocompatibility (cytotoxicity, irritation, sensitization, acute systemic toxicity, material-mediated pyrogenicity) and performance testing (tensile strength, transmission efficiency, bend radius, durability, connector temperature, aiming beam visibility, RFID transponder content, and shelf-life/packaging integrity at T=0 and T=37 months). Summative usability evaluation was performed for the mounting card.

The Moses fibers are available in a single, box-one configurations. The Moses fibers are compatible with the (Lumenis) Pulse 120 Laser System, Boston Scientific {5} Moses Fibers Traditional 510(k) 510(k) Summary used for the energy delivery of the Holmium Laser Energy (Ho:YAG) from the Console.
