## Device Story

The reepot Nd:YAG laser system is a surgical laser device used in hospitals, clinics, and medical spas by trained professionals. It consists of a console, LCD control panel, footswitch, and VSLS handpieces (which include an integrated camera and LCD display). The system delivers 532nm laser energy via an articulated arm to perform soft tissue incision, ablation, and coagulation. The operator uses the LCD interface to control parameters; the integrated handpiece camera/display assists in visualization during procedures. The device provides therapeutic benefits by enabling precise tissue removal and vascular/pigmented lesion treatment. Clinical decision-making is guided by the physician's assessment of the patient's dermatological condition.

## Clinical Evidence

No clinical or animal studies were conducted. Substantial equivalence is supported by bench testing, including compliance with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60601-2-22, and IEC 60825-1, alongside software verification and validation and biocompatibility assessment.

## Technological Characteristics

Nd:YAG laser medium; 532nm wavelength; 5-20ns pulse width; 1-10Hz repetition rate; 4mm/6mm spot size; 635nm diode aiming beam; articulated arm optical delivery; LCD touch screen interface; 220-230VAC power. Complies with IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2, 60601-2-22, and 60825-1 standards.

## Regulatory Identification

(1) A carbon dioxide laser for use in general surgery and in dermatology is a laser device intended to cut, destroy, or remove tissue by light energy emitted by carbon dioxide.(2) An argon laser for use in dermatology is a laser device intended to destroy or coagulate tissue by light energy emitted by argon.
