Operation: mechanical filtration via three-layer construction (outer/inner non-woven polypropylene; middle melt-blown polypropylene filter). Features: elastic ear loops (polyester/spandex) and integrated nose piece (iron strip/polypropylene) for fit. Used in clinical/healthcare settings for infection control; operated by healthcare personnel or patients. Output: physical protection against microorganisms, body fluids, and particulates. Benefit: reduces potential exposure to blood/body fluids; protects both wearer and patient.

No clinical data. Bench testing only. Performance verified against ASTM F2100-19 standards: BFE (ASTM F2101-19), PFE (ASTM F2299-03), Differential Pressure (EN 14683:2019), Synthetic Blood Penetration (ASTM F1862M-17), and Flammability (16 CFR Part 1610). Biocompatibility testing conducted per ISO 10993-5 (cytotoxicity) and ISO 10993-10 (sensitization and irritation). All tests passed.
Indicated for use by adults as a single-use, disposable surgical mask to protect patients and healthcare personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material in infection control practices.

Surgical apparel are devices that are intended to be worn by operating room personnel during surgical procedures to protect both the surgical patient and the operating room personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material. Examples include surgical caps, hoods, masks, gowns, operating room shoes and shoe covers, and isolation masks and gowns. Surgical suits and dresses, commonly known as scrub suits, are excluded.
Special Controls
*Classification.* (1) Class II (special controls) for surgical gowns and surgical masks. A surgical N95 respirator or N95 filtering facepiece respirator is not exempt if it is intended to prevent specific diseases or infections, or it is labeled or otherwise represented as filtering surgical smoke or plumes, filtering specific amounts of viruses or bacteria, reducing the amount of and/or killing viruses, bacteria, or fungi, or affecting allergenicity, or it contains coating technologies unrelated to filtration (e.g., to reduce and or kill microorganisms). Surgical N95 respirators and N95 filtering facepiece respirators are exempt from the premarket notification procedures in subpart E of part 807 of this chapter subject to § 878.9, and the following conditions for exemption:(i) The user contacting components of the device must be demonstrated to be biocompatible.
(ii) Analysis and nonclinical testing must:
(A) Characterize flammability and be demonstrated to be appropriate for the intended environment of use; and
(B) Demonstrate the ability of the device to resist penetration by fluids, such as blood and body fluids, at a velocity consistent with the intended use of the device.
(iii) NIOSH approved under its regulation.
(2) Class I (general controls) for surgical apparel other than surgical gowns and surgical masks. The class I device is exempt from the premarket notification procedures in subpart E of part 807 of this chapter subject to § 878.9.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. #### 4. Device Description
The "SURGICAL MASK" is single use, blue color, without face shield, Flat Pleated type, utilizing elastic ear loops for wearing, and it has a Nose Piece design for fitting the facemask around the nose. The "SURGICAL MASK" is manufactured with three layers. The inner and outer layers are made of Non-woven fabric (Polypropylene), and the middle filter layer is made of a melt blown fabric (Polypropylene). The subject device is held in place over the user's mouth and nose by two ear loops welded to the facemask. The elastic ear loop is made of Polyester and Spandex. The nose piece contained in masks is in the layers of the facemask to allow the user to fit the facemask around their nose, which is made of iron strip and polypropylene. The "SURGICAL MASK" is sold non-sterile and are intended to be single-use, disposable devices.
This product contains no components made with natural rubber latex.

2. The results table

3. Judging fuzzy relevance
Fuzzy results trail off in relevance as you scroll. Use three signals to decide how far down to go: the fuzzy badge explanations, the intended use column, and whether your target output (e.g., Cobb angle) still appears in the AI Performance sub-table. Once it stops appearing, you're past the relevant zone. A top hit with a low score (~0.4) and a stretched explanation is a hint the closest predicates are far away — the project may be headed for De Novo. Note the fuzzy search is a pattern match: it doesn't handle negation ("not") well, and hardware devices can appear — filter by SaMD/AI ML to cut them.

4. Device detail page: chat and citations
Click a device name to open its detail page: device facts on the left, a chat window on the right. Ask something like "Describe the training data". The answer carries little citation bubbles — click one to jump to the highlighted passage in the source PDF, so you can verify every AI answer against the document. There's also a Download PDF button for sharing.

At least the three most relevant 510(k) or De Novo summaries, in full. After that, use targeted chat questions to confirm your memory quickly. The tool supports this professional habit — it doesn't replace it.
5. Side-by-side comparison
Select multiple rows in the results table (aim for under ~10), then open the PDF Viewer tab. Ask one question — it goes to all selected devices in parallel, each with citations. This is the fastest way to compare and contrast devices: training data, PCCP scope, how they handled adding new scanners, and so on.

6. Collections
With rows selected, go to the Collections tab and create a labeled collection (e.g., "Cobb Angle Project"). Reload that selection any time — before a client call, pull up the collection and ask questions across all of its devices at once.

7. Product codes and the regulations tree
Click a product code in the results to jump to it in the regulations tree — identification text, sibling product codes, and devices you can open in a PDF viewer on the right. Click a regulation number to see its identification, special controls, and related product codes. You can also search by product code or regulation number at the top of the tree. Always read the special controls if any exist for your device — it broadens your search and sharpens pre-kickoff research.

8. Chart view
Click Show Chart and segment by regulation number (or product code) to see which regulations dominate your result set. Clicking a regulation takes you into the regulations tree. Great for spotting that most matches are, say, hardware laparoscopic devices — a cue to go back and filter.

9. The predicate graph
Open the Predicates tab for a family-tree view of predicate relationships. Click a node to trace its parents and children; selections from search carry over pre-selected. The visual lineage is also handy on client calls, e.g. to show how a predicate family evolved and justify why your predicate still holds.

10. Embeddings: the galaxy map
The Embeddings tab plots every matching document in a 2-D "galaxy map" where semantically similar devices cluster together. Hover or click clusters to explore, and let AI label the clusters for you. Embeddings beat product codes for grouping: two devices can carry different product codes (LLZ vs. QIH) yet do the same thing — the embedding captures the meaning of the intended use and device story. This is also exactly how retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) works under the hood, and it makes a great visual on client calls.
