Indications for Use

The New Era is intended for hair removal, permanent hair reduction on all skin types (Fitzpatrick skin type I-VI), including tanned skin. Permanent hair reduction is defined as the long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing when measured at 6, 9, and 12 months after the completion of a treatment regime.

Device Story

New Era is a diode laser surgical instrument for hair removal/reduction. Device consists of a main unit and a handpiece; operator uses a foot switch to activate laser emission. System provides 36 working modes (6 for men, 6 for women, each with 3 sub-modes) based on preset parameter combinations; all parameters are adjustable. Device uses sapphire and stainless steel in the handpiece tip for patient contact. Intended for clinical use. Benefits include long-term, stable reduction in hair regrowth.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided. Substantial equivalence is based on bench testing, including electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, laser safety, and biocompatibility (cytotoxicity, irritation, and sensitization).

Technological Characteristics

Diode laser (808 nm); Class IV laser. Handpiece contact materials: sapphire and stainless steel. Dimensions: 59x59x146 cm; Weight: 45kg. Power: AC 110V/50-60Hz. Standards: IEC 60601-1 (safety), IEC 60601-2-22 (laser equipment), IEC 60825-1 (laser safety), IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC), ISO 10993-5 (cytotoxicity), ISO 10993-10 (irritation/hypersensitivity).
