Device Story
THUNDERBEAT Type X hand instruments are sterile, single-use surgical tools for open, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures; used with USG-400 ultrasonic generator, ESG-400 electrosurgical generator, and TD-TB400 transducer. Device functions via simultaneous HF Bipolar (FineCoag) and ultrasonic output (Seal & Cut mode) or HF Bipolar (HardCoag) output (Seal mode). Operated by surgeons via front-actuated grip handle with integrated hand switches. Input: mechanical grasping of tissue/vessels between probe and grasping section. Transformation: simultaneous application of ultrasonic energy and HF bipolar current to seal and cut vessels up to 7mm, tissue bundles, and lymphatics. Output: sealed and transected tissue. Benefits: efficient vessel ligation and tissue dissection in general/gynecological surgery. Clinical decision-making: provides surgeon with controlled hemostasis and tissue separation.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data. Evidence consists of bench testing (ex-vivo vessel burst pressure and cutting performance on porcine tissue) and animal studies (acute and chronic porcine models) evaluating seal maintenance, thermal spread, and tissue healing.

The subject and predicate devices activate combined HF Bipolar (FineCoag) output and Ultrasonic output [Seal & Cut mode] simultaneously while grasping vessels, tissue bundles and lymphatics between the Probe and the Grasping section.
The THUNDERBEAT Type X Hand Instruments, like the predicate THUNDERBEAT, also activates the HF Bipolar (HardCoag) output [Seal mode]. # Substantial Equivalence
The subject and predicate devices have the same fundamental technology and indications for use. The performance, dimensions and materials of the subject device are similar to those of the predicate. Compared to the predicate device (K132703), the subject device has a different shape in the Grasping section, a coating of insulating material has been added to the underside of the probe, and the handle is now a frontactuated grip. To support the proposed design modifications, the performance tests summarized above were conducted.

Exact results match the literal phrase — prefix searches work ("coronary artery calcificati") but suffix searches do not. Fuzzy results match on the meaning and intent of your phrase rather than the exact words, and are sorted by relevance score. Click a product code in the results to jump to it in the regulations tree — identification text, sibling product codes, and devices you can open in a PDF viewer on the right. Click a regulation number to see its identification, special controls, and related product codes. You can also search by product code or regulation number at the top of the tree. Always read the special controls if any exist for your device — it broadens your search and sharpens pre-kickoff research.

8. Chart view
Click Show Chart and segment by regulation number (or product code) to see which regulations dominate your result set. Clicking a regulation takes you into the regulations tree. Great for spotting that most matches are, say, hardware laparoscopic devices — a cue to go back and filter.

9. The predicate graph
Open the Predicates tab for a family-tree view of predicate relationships. Click a node to trace its parents and children; selections from search carry over pre-selected. Commonly predicated devices are worth reading — a lot of people predicated them for a reason. The visual lineage is also handy on client calls, e.g. to show how a predicate family evolved and justify why your predicate still holds.

10. Embeddings: the galaxy map
The Embeddings tab plots every matching document in a 2-D "galaxy map" where semantically similar devices cluster together. Hover or click clusters to explore, and let AI label the clusters for you. Embeddings beat product codes for grouping: two devices can carry different product codes (LLZ vs. QIH) yet do the same thing — the embedding captures the meaning of the intended use and device story. This is also exactly how retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) works under the hood, and it makes a great visual on client calls.
