Device Story

Rhapsody H-30 Holmium Laser System is a transportable, solid-state Ho:YAG laser unit; produces 2100 nm coherent near-infrared light. Operated by physician via footswitch; laser energy delivered to surgical site through compatible optical fibers. System includes rotatable control panel; detects fiber-embedded resistors to identify fiber size and limit power output; communicates with fiber-embedded PCB to display usage data/error codes. Used in OR/clinic settings for soft tissue management and stone fragmentation. Benefits include precise tissue interaction and stone destruction. Device is reusable; non-sterile.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing included software verification and validation (firmware v1.6), electrical safety per IEC 60601-1, and performance testing (output energy accuracy within ±10% and 30-minute continuous firing at 2.5J/12Hz). All pre-determined acceptance criteria were met.
