## Indications for Use

A patient examination glove is a disposable device intended for medical purposes that is worn on the examiner's hand or finger to prevent contamination between patient and examiner.

## Device Story

Non-sterile, powder-free nitrile examination glove; blue, ambidextrous, finger-textured. Device acts as a physical barrier to prevent cross-contamination between patient and examiner. Used in clinical settings; operated by healthcare professionals or for over-the-counter use. Principle of operation relies on material barrier properties; device tested for physical integrity, tensile strength, and elongation per ASTM D6319-10 standards. Output is the physical protection provided by the glove during patient examination.

## Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Substantial equivalence supported by non-clinical bench testing, including physical property testing (tensile strength, elongation), barrier integrity (freedom from holes), and biocompatibility (skin irritation and dermal sensitization) in accordance with ASTM D6319-10.

## Technological Characteristics

Material: Nitrile (acrylonitrile-butadiene). Form: Non-sterile, powder-free, blue, ambidextrous, finger-textured. Compliance: ASTM D6319-10. Physical properties: Tensile strength >14 MPa, ultimate elongation >500% (before aging). Barrier: AQL 1.5 for freedom from holes. Residual powder: <2mg/glove.

## Regulatory Identification

A non-powdered patient examination glove is a disposable device intended for medical purposes that is worn on the examiner's hand or finger to prevent contamination between patient and examiner. A non-powdered patient examination glove does not incorporate powder for purposes other than manufacturing. The final finished glove includes only residual powder from manufacturing.
