Indications for Use

The Aquarius™ Stoma Measuring Device is designed to determine the depth (length) of a well-established gastrostomy stoma tract in order to assist in proper length selection of the Aquarius™ Gastrostomy Button (G-Button). Intended for transient use (less than 60 minutes).

Device Story

Aquarius™ Stoma Measuring Device is a single-use, 12 Fr silicone device used in hospital environments to measure gastrostomy stoma tract depth. The device consists of a funnel with an inflation valve, a tubular shaft with a graduated scale, and a distal retaining balloon. Operation involves inserting the device through the stoma, inflating the balloon to anchor the device against the internal stoma wall, and reading the depth measurement from the shaft scale. This measurement assists clinicians in selecting the correct length for an Aquarius™ Gastrostomy Button. The device is intended for transient use (less than 60 minutes).

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Bench testing only. Verification included dimension verification, surface finish/marking inspection, balloon concentricity and bursting volume tests, tensile strength of tubing and connections, packaging tests (visual, tensile, dye penetration), shelf life testing, biocompatibility evaluation, and risk analysis per ISO 14971:2012.

Technological Characteristics

Material: 100% silicone rubber. Design: 12 Fr tubular shaft with graduated scale, funnel with inflation valve, and distal retaining balloon. Sterilization: EtO. Single-use. No electronic components or software.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients with a well-established gastrostomy stoma tract requiring measurement of tract depth to select the appropriate length for a gastrostomy-feeding device (G-Button).

Regulatory Classification

Identification
