Indications for Use

Kettosil® and Silginat® (Silginat®, Silginat® Strawberry) Impression Materials are addition-curing, elastomeric preliminary impression materials, to be used as an alternative to traditional alginate materials.

Device Story

Kettosil and Silginat are addition-curing, elastomeric impression materials designed as alternatives to traditional alginate. Used by dental professionals in clinical settings to capture dental anatomy. The material is applied to the patient's dentition to create a negative mold; once cured, it is removed and used to produce physical dental models. These models facilitate the fabrication of temporary restorations, orthodontic appliances, retainers, splints, and surgical guides. The device benefits patients by providing accurate anatomical representations for treatment planning and prosthetic construction.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performance evaluated per ISO 4823 (Dentistry -- Elastomeric impression materials) and FDA Guidance for Industry: Dental Impression Materials. Results demonstrate suitability for use as preliminary impression materials equivalent to predicates.

Technological Characteristics

Addition-curing, elastomeric impression material. Complies with ISO 4823 standards. No electronic components, software, or energy sources.

Indications for Use

Indicated for dental impressions for preliminary impressions, anatomical models, temporary crowns and bridges, opposing dentition, simple removable prosthetic restorations, orthodontic work, removable retainers and splints, case study models, and models for construction of trays for whitening solutions, bites, and surgical guides.

Regulatory Classification

Identification
