Indications for Use
Elecsys Anti-CCP immunoassay: Immunoassay for the in vitro semi-quantitative determination of human IgG autoantibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides in human serum and plasma. The results of the assay are intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in combination with other clinical and laboratory findings. The electrochemiluminescence immunoassay "ECLIA" is intended for use on Elecsys and cobas e immunoassay analyzers. Elecsys PreciControl Anti-CCP is used for quality control of the Elecsys Anti-CCP immunoassay on the Elecsys and cobas e immunoassay analyzers.
Device Story
The Elecsys Anti-CCP Immunoassay is an in vitro diagnostic test for detecting IgG autoantibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides (CCP) in human serum and plasma. It utilizes a two-step IgG-capture principle with streptavidin-coated microparticles and electrochemiluminescence (ECLIA) detection. The device is intended for use on Elecsys and cobas e immunoassay analyzers in clinical laboratory settings. The system generates results via a calibration curve derived from a master curve provided by the reagent barcode and a 2-point calibration. Healthcare providers use the semi-quantitative results as an aid in diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis. The Elecsys PreciControl Anti-CCP is a lyophilized human serum-based control used to monitor assay performance. The device benefits patients by providing a standardized, automated method for identifying anti-CCP antibodies, which are clinical markers for rheumatoid arthritis.
Clinical Evidence
Clinical performance evaluated in a cohort of 792 confirmed RA patients, 420 asymptomatic healthy individuals, and 907 patients with other rheumatic/non-rheumatic disorders. Sensitivity was 67.7% and specificity was 97.0% at a cut-off of 17 U/mL. ROC curve AUC was 0.85. Method comparison against the predicate device (N=1606) showed 94.3% positive percent agreement and 98.4% negative percent agreement.
Technological Characteristics
Two-step IgG-capture immunoassay; electrochemiluminescence detection; streptavidin-coated microparticles. Measuring range: 8-1000 U/mL. Analyzers: Elecsys 2010, MODULAR ANALYTICS E170, cobas e 411, cobas e 601. Standardized against a commercially available anti-CCP assay. Complies with CLSI EP17-A (LoD/LoQ) and CLSI EP5-A2 (precision) guidelines.
Indications for Use
Indicated for the semi-quantitative determination of human IgG autoantibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides in human serum and plasma to aid in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings. For use by trained laboratory professionals on Elecsys and cobas e immunoassay analyzers.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A rheumatoid factor immunological test system is a device that consists of the reagents used to measure by immunochemical techniques the rheumatoid factor (antibodies to immunoglobulins) in serum, other body fluids, and tissues. Measurement of rheumatoid factor may aid in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.
