Indications for Use

VitreaACCESS software is intended to be used for remote review of Vitrea2 Software outputs, such as: processing, analysis, communication and media interchange of multidimensional digital images acquired from a variety of imaging devices.

Device Story

VitreaACCESS 1.0 is a medical image processing software designed for remote review of outputs generated by Vitrea2 software. It enables clinicians to access, process, analyze, and communicate multidimensional digital images acquired from various imaging modalities. The device functions as a remote interface, allowing healthcare providers to view and interact with image data processed by the primary Vitrea2 system. By facilitating remote access, it supports clinical workflows where image review is required outside the immediate vicinity of the primary imaging workstation. The device utilizes the DICOM protocol to ensure interoperability and communication with other medical imaging systems. It is intended for prescription use by healthcare professionals to assist in clinical decision-making through the review of diagnostic image data.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. The software was developed, verified, and validated according to internal procedures, including product specifications, coding, testing, and maintenance. A Risk Management Plan was implemented to identify and control potential hazards. No clinical data was required or provided.

Technological Characteristics

Software-based medical image processing system. Operates via DICOM protocol for image communication and media interchange. Designed for remote review of multidimensional digital images. No specific hardware materials or energy sources defined as it is a software-only device.

Indications for Use

Indicated for clinicians requiring remote review, processing, analysis, and communication of multidimensional digital medical images acquired from various imaging devices.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A medical image management and processing system is a device that provides one or more capabilities relating to the review and digital processing of medical images for the purposes of interpretation by a trained practitioner of disease detection, diagnosis, or patient management. The software components may provide advanced or complex image processing functions for image manipulation, enhancement, or quantification that are intended for use in the interpretation and analysis of medical images. Advanced image manipulation functions may include image segmentation, multimodality image registration, or 3D visualization. Complex quantitative functions may include semi-automated measurements or time-series measurements.

Special Controls

*Classification.* Class II (special controls; voluntary standards—Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Std., Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) Std., Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Test Pattern).
