## Indications for Use

The LactoSorb® Mini Interference Screw is indicated for use in soft tissue to bone fixation in the hand, wrist, and shoulder in the presence of appropriate protection or immobilization.

## Device Story

LactoSorb® Mini Interference Screw is a resorbable fixation device; used for soft tissue to bone attachment in hand, wrist, and shoulder procedures. Device is preloaded on a driver; operated by surgeons in clinical settings. Provides mechanical fixation during healing; material resorbs over time. Benefit includes secure tissue-to-bone anchoring without permanent hardware. Clinical decision-making relies on surgeon assessment of fixation needs.

## Clinical Evidence

No clinical data; substantial equivalence established via bench testing.

## Technological Characteristics

Resorbable interference screw made of LactoSorb® material. Single-size design. Preloaded on a driver for surgical delivery. Mechanical fixation principle.

## Regulatory Identification

A smooth or threaded metallic bone fixation fastener is a device intended to be implanted that consists of a stiff wire segment or rod made of alloys, such as cobalt-chromium-molybdenum and stainless steel, and that may be smooth on the outside, fully or partially threaded, straight or U-shaped; and may be either blunt pointed, sharp pointed, or have a formed, slotted head on the end. It may be used for fixation of bone fractures, for bone reconstructions, as a guide pin for insertion of other implants, or it may be implanted through the skin so that a pulling force (traction) may be applied to the skeletal system.

## Predicate Devices
